All In!

Updated: Feb 11, 2019

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30

The Sacred Heart of Jesus. Most Holy. Faithful. The Perfection of Love. Christ’s heart is undefinable, yet so perfectly clear. God is love, perfected in His son Jesus Christ.

In Mark 12, a scribe asks what is the first commandment and Jesus’ reply is so perfectly clear. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Plain and simple. All that God wants from us first and foremost is one, three letter word - all.

Jesus loved his Father with all His heart, soul, mind and strength. Jesus was merciful, loving, forgiving, wise and sacrificial. Sacrificial to the point of dying on the cross for us. Christ’s heart is pure love.

However, because we are in desperate need of healing, giving God all is no simple task. In order to give God all my heart, soul, mind and strength, I need His grace to stretch beyond my own humanness. I want to give my Father God everything, yet my selfishness gets in the way of His will.

Brothers and sisters, we were made for more than our struggles, whatever they may be. We were made for all. We were created by our Wonderful Maker, to love our Maker wonderfully. I so desperately want to crawl upon my Father God’s lap each morning, listen to His beating heart, and love Him with all that I have. Even more, I want to pull you up on Our Father’s lap and sit with me in His gentle Holy Spirit.

There are days the journey to His heart is long. One step up and two steps back. On those days, I am grateful His angels and saints push me from behind into His safe, loving arms. Angels in Heaven and angels on Earth. We need community on this journey. We need each other for encouragement, laughter when it’s fun, and support when the road is rough.

I want to love like Jesus loves His Father. I want all. All in. All of my heart, soul, mind and strength.

All I want is the heart of Jesus. I know you do too. I pray you join us as we listen, learn and lean into the loving, Sacred Heart of Jesus.
