God Is Truth

At a young age we were taught to tell the truth. No one respects a liar. Over time, we quickly learned telling the truth is not always easy. Eventually, we did something, or failed to do something we were told to do. To save face, telling a lie appeared to be the best option.

In time, we experienced people being untruthful with us. Although we knew we were not always truthful, we expected others to always be truthful with us. It did not feel right when we realized someone was dishonest with us. It felt like a violation. These experiences led to mistrust. We also learned some people chose to lie most of the time, rather than on occasion. And even worse, some who lied to us were parents, teachers or others in authority.

Some lies we experienced were very personal, stripping us of our dignity, self-esteem, confidence and security. Over time, some lies we accepted as truths (you will never do anything right, you always screw up, you are stupid, no one likes you, you are too fat/too thin/too sensitive/too quiet, etc.).

At some point in your life, you learned about a book called the Bible. Whether you heard scripture at Mass, someone read sections of the Bible to you and/or you read the Bible yourself, you learned it was God’s Word.

Do we agree the Bible is God’s Word? If so, is God’s Word truth? If God’s Word is not truth, is God a liar? Can we always trust in God’s truthfulness? Who is brazen enough to say God’s Word is not truth, or claim God is a liar? We would never think to verbalize this thought. But if we are truthful with ourselves, we may not believe ALL scripture is truth.

We pulled a few scripture passages to test your belief in God’s truth. If you believe God does not lie, do you believe ALL the following from His Word, the Bible? These truths are life changing, unless you think God is a liar.

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Philippians 4:13 "I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me."

1 John 3:11 "See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him."

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for you welfare, not for woe! When you call me, when you go to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with your heart, you will find me with you, says the Lord, and I will change your lot..."

Revelation 21:4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, for the former things have passed away."

If you find believing these truths challenging, schedule a prayer session with the Heart of Jesus Healing Prayer Ministry. The prayer session permits the Holy Spirit to expose the root issue of your doubt or unbelief. Jesus wants to heal you. Believe it.
